Huntsman (The Woodlands, Texas / USA; www.huntsman.com) in late June completed the acquisition of PU processor Tecnoelastomeri (Castelfranco Emilia / Italy; www.tecnoelastomeri.com). Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The Italian company, which posted sales of about EUR 12m in 2014, specialises in MDI-based hot-cast elastomer systems and processing machines. Its products are used in a range of downstream applications such as bumper pads, coated conveyor belts, gears, rollers and wheelers. Huntsman had been its MDI supplier for many years, the US group said.

Commenting on the purchase, Tony Hankins, president of Huntsman’s Polyurethanes division, said the addition of Tecnoelastomeri’s team “will significantly strengthen our offer to the growing, downstream hot-cast elastomer markets globally.”
