HROMATKA
Swiss distribution group purchases German product developer
Hromatka (Aesch, Switzerland; www.hgmag.ch) said it has made a deal to acquire engineering firm Impetus Plastics Engineering (Aachen, Germany; www.impetus-engineering.de) for an undisclosed sum. The German company has domestic branches in Aachen and Bad Aibling.

The Swiss group said the takeover strengthens its expertise in product development. It added that Impetus will work closely with its German subsidiary Grässlin (Kirchlengern and Villingen-Schwenningen; www.grässlin-kunststoffe.de) while also maintaining independent operations under MD Thomas Brinkmann, Sigrid Brinkmann, and Frank Jöpen.
Impetus’ product development focuses on injection moulded parts, but it also offers a range of services covering corresponding tools, rheological simulations, finite element calculations, measuring components with optical methods, and 3D-printing expertise.
The engineering firm has a technical centre at its Bad Aibling branch, where it also conducts material testing to determine short- and long-term properties of plastics.
