"Twin Sheet Forming": Cooperation with Cannon Shelley / Global marketing
"Twin Sheet Forming" involves precision manufacture of rigid cavity bodies of desired geometric proportions from two thermo-plastic sheets. This can be achieved by relatively minor, inexpensive modifications to thermoforming machinery. This technology is particularly suitable for applications with difficult shapes found in medical, electrical and computer technology, chemical engineering and the automobile industry.
In addition to the machinery technology, process know-how, manufacturing experience, and knowledge of the material characteristics are all essential. Since this is more than a single firm could offer, Cannon Shelley Thermoformers International Ltd (Stonehill, Stukeley Meadows Industrial Estate, GB-Huntingdon PE18 6DR) which specialises in thermoforming machinery and Hombach Kunststoff-Thermoform-Technik, Rudolf Tobolla (Veit-von-Berg Str 24, D-91486 Uehlfeld) have concluded a cooperation agreement. Hombach has many years of experience of manufacturing thermoplastic semi-finished products by vacuum forming. Tobolla conceived the process know-how for "Twin Sheet Forming", and developed it to the production stage with support from GE Plastics. Resulting from the cooperation between the two firms the benefits of this technology can now be offered to customers on an international basis.
