Tube manufacturer Hoffmann Neopac (Thun / Switzerland; www.hoffmannneopac.ch) has acquired the majority (67%) of shares of 3D Technopack (Mumbai / India; www.3dpackaging.fr), effective October 2017. The investment strengthens Neopac's international presence and expands its expertise in tube manufacturing, the Swiss company said. At the same time, Neopac is strengthening its position as a supplier for globally active corporations.
3D Technopack is the third largest tube manufacturer in India, according to Neopac. The company will use funds provided by the Swiss firm to expand capacity in its core extruded tube business, as well as launch a new tube generation that allows unlimited decoration. 3D Technopack employs 220 people and produces 120m tubes annually. The company supplies to major Indian brands and a number of mid-sized companies in Europe.
Currently, Neopac produces plastic packaging in two locations in Switzerland and Hungary. Its customers include international pharmaceutical, cosmetics and consumer goods manufacturers in European and North America. The company has 950 employees and a capacity of 950m tubes per year.
