Follow-up: Official opening ceremony for new Romanian EPS packaging plant
In line with plans touted earlier this year – see Plasteurope.com of 19.04.2011 – Austrian EPS specialist Hirsch Servo (Glanegg; www.hirsch-gruppe.com) on 9 September 2011 held the official opening ceremony for its new 600 t/y "Porozell" packaging plant in Oradea / Romania.

The facility, Hirsch Servo’s second in the country and its tenth overall, manufactures EPS packaging components for monitors, televisions as well as audio and video systems for electronics giant Samsung (Seoul / South Korea; www.samsung.com). Hirsch decided to locate the plant in Romania in order to be as close as possible to customers, thereby reducing the carbon footprint of its production. In the words of Hirsch Servo board member Siegfried Wilding, "we are prepared to follow our customers and meet the higher demand for packaging material in the local market."
