Fire destroys new Polish storage facility / Damage of EUR 3-4m
The newly completed storage facility of Austrian EPS specialist Hirsch Servo (Glanegg; www.hirsch-gruppe.com) at Wroclaw / Poland was destroyed by fire on 18 October. No injuries were reported, and no details on the cause of the blaze were immediately available. Damage to the EPS moulded parts stored at the site has been estimated initially at EUR 3-4m. Work at the adjacent production site was interrupted temporarily but has resumed. As the fire was contained to the storage hall, machinery was not damaged. Employees are currently working three shifts to make up the lost production, a Hirsch spokeswoman told PIE. She said the company expects to rebuild the destroyed facility.
