Machinery with sales growth in the first half / “Shape Molding” faces challenge in Hungary
The Austrian EPS specialist Hirsch Servo AG (A-9555 Glanegg; www.hirsch-gruppe.com) reports positive results for the first half of the fiscal year 2002/2003 (30th June) with consolidated sales at EUR 27.4m, up 34% compared to the same period in the previous year. One major factor for this improvement was the substantial sales increase in the area of machine and plant engineering. The shape moulding Division recorded a 4% increase in sales, which was supported by above-average growth in the Hungarian market. The group´s profit on ordinary activities rose to EUR 1.3m (EUR 0.4m).
In the next months, Hirsch will be faced with a challenging situation. The relocation of the Philips´ (www.philips.com) CRT monitor production from Hungary to China will result in lost orders totalling EUR 600,000.
