After a turnaround that lasted about two months (see Plasteurope.com of 23.09.2014), Serbian polyolefin producer HIP Petrohemija (Pancevo; www.hip-petrohemija.com) on 10 November restarted its cracker, and a day later switched on its downstream HDPE and LDPE lines. The company said all plants have stable operations, adding that polymer output is on spec.
According to Plasteurope.com’s Polyglobe capacity database (www.polyglobe.net), HIP’s cracker has a nameplate capacity of 200,000 t/y of C2 and a little less C3. Further downstream, the company is capable of producing 160,000 t/y of LDPE and HDPE.
