New bottle packaging offers significant material savings
Packaging producer Hi-Cone (Europe: La Garriga / Spanien; www.hi-cone.com) has introduced a new storage-and-carry system for large PET bottle multipacks that uses between 20-50% less material than standard printed shrink wrap. However, these material savings do not impact the system’s sturdiness and security, says the subsidiary of US group Illinois Tool Works (ITW, Glenview, Illinois; www.itw.com). The system is suitable for six-packs of both 1.5 and 2 l PET bottles containing water or soft drinks.

Hi-Cone says the new packaging is particularly consumer-friendly because of its fully integrated handle, which is not just easy to carry but also continues to hold the bottles in place even after opening. In addition, the system offers several benefits for brands, who can print their messages on it.
