New production plant in Germany
In mid-April 2010, speciality epoxy resin systems manufacturer Hexion Speciality Chemicals (Columbux, Ohio / USA; www.hexionchem.com) inaugurated its new 10,000 m2 production facility in Esslingen / Germany. The site will produce speciality epoxy resins and bonding pastes used in large-dimension composite wind turbine blades as well as marine, automotive and mass transit applications.
The US group previously had closed its older and smaller plant in Stuttgart, whose employees have found jobs in Esslingen. Hexion did not specify the new facility’s nameplate capacity.
