HALOPOLYMER
Russian fluoropolymer producer joins PlasticsEurope industry association / Two fluoroplastics approved for food contact by France's SGS Multilab
Russian fluorinated polymers producer HaloPolymer (Moscow; www.halopolymer.com) in January 2013 became a member of plastics industry producers' association PlasticsEurope (Brussels / Belgium; www.plasticseurope.com). The company said the decision to join the European umbrella organisation was a strategic one, allowing it to receive regular updates about the fluoropolymer market, participate in discussions on new rules and regulations, conduct joint research and share experiences with other companies in the field.
“Joining PlasticsEurope is ante omnia important for HaloPolymer with establishment of working relationships with technical experts of the leading European companies, which will facilitate the prompt solution of many issues aimed at updating of manufacturing facilities and improving the technological processes of the enterprises that make part of the holding,” said group CEO Maxim Doroshkevich. One of the projects of particular interest to the Russian company is the TFE Safety Project, which is aiming to come up with recommendations for the safe storage, receipt and use of tetrafluoroethylene in the industry.
In addition, HaloPolymer also said its “F4” and “F4-D” fluoroplastics had been successfully tested by France’s SGS Multilab for compliance with European Directive No. 10/2011 for food contact. Several fluoroplastics produced by the company had previously been okayed for the European Commission’s regulations on the manufacturing of products intended by Intertek Netherlands – see Plasteurope.com of 09.08.2012.
