HALLSTAR
Dow's TP specialty plasticiser range acquired
US additive specialist HallStar (Chicago, Illinois; www.hallstar.com) in early July 2012 acquired Dow Chemical’s (Midland, Michigan / USA; www.dow.com) TP specialty plasticiser series. Financial details of the deal, which includes both the trade names and proprietary manufacturing technology, were not disclosed. The acquisition comprises “TP-90B”, “TP-795” and “TP-95”.
The purchase broadens HallStar’s existing range of plasticisers, which include, “Paraplex”, “Monoplex”, “Staflex”, “Plasthall” and “Dioplex”. The company had acquired the latter from Dow in mid-2009. HallStar said it would not change the production locations of the new product lines to ensure a seamless transition.
