New injection moulding machinery plant in Vietnam
Haitian International Holding (Hong Kong / China; www.haitian.com) board member Helmar Franz estimates that the Chinese company delivered “some 15,000” machines in H1 2010. Haitian is the undisputed global leader in injection moulding machines – see Plasteurope.com of 01.09.2010 – and plans to raise capacity even further. After having recently announced plans to build a new plant in northern China, Franz told a press conference at “K 2010” about Haitian’s plans for an additional machinery facility in Vietnam.
Haitian already has begun construction at the site, located near Ho Chi Minh City in south Vietnam. The core machinery plant with capacity for 2,000 units is expected to go on stream in mid-2011. Franz added that the site allows for a possible doubling of capacity. With its roughly 90m inhabitants, Vietnam already boasts a market volume of roughly 2,000 machines per year, the German expert explained, adding that Haitian also plans to exports its machinery into South East Asia.
