Chinese group Haitian (Hong Kong / China; www.haitian.com) will be displaying its wide range of machinery at “K 2010” (www.k-online.de) in Düsseldorf / Germany. The new “Mars Eco” introduces an economic version of the successful “Mars” series, which has sold over 25,000 machines worldwide. Haitian says the machines cost around 50% less than European standard machines and will be shown at K 2010 with clamping forces from 600 to 10,000 kN.
Building on the success of its energy saving “Mars” series, the company’s new “Pallas” series, introduced at this year’s "Chinaplas" (www.chinaplasonline.com) in Shanghai / China, offers clamping forces from 600 to 4,500 kN and a revised five-point toggle system. A newly developed space saving two platen variant covers clamping forces from 5,300 to 10,000 kN.
The “Venus” series is now available from Haitian subsidiary Zhafir Plastics Machinery (Ebermannsdorf / Germany; www.zhafir.com) in a packaging version – "VE/p". The company claims that the all-electric technology is available at the price of a European hydraulic machine. VE/p was introduced at Chinaplas 2009 with such new features as increased injection speed, and is now available in the European market. High acceleration was key in the machine’s development, achieving a response time of around 25 ms, with precise part weights even with thin walled components. A specially developed high performance screw is claimed to improve melt homogeneity and a more steady flow of material.
The company claims that the VE/p delivers comparable or even better results in acceleration, precision and energy consumption than competing all-electric products while prices generally remain 30-40% below the level of the all-electric premium products from Europe and Japan.
The Zhafir “Mercury” high-end injection moulding series will be previewed at K-2010. The series will offer clamping forces between 300 and 5,000 kN and production will start at the beginning of 2011. Helmar Franz, executive director of Haitian and CEO of Zhafir Plastics Machinery, said: “We will assemble close to our customers. We want to have short ways and to be able to be responsive and flexible specifically to individual and regional requirements. In the sense of a true production network we plan to serve Europe from Ebermannsdorf and Asia, for example, from Ningbo. A first prototype of the Mercury was also assembled in China at the end of 2009 and has been duly tested.”
From June 2010, Haitian Europe, the European subsidiary company of Haitian International Holdings will operate from Germany in a move to improve organisation and infrastructure and position the Haitian and Zhafir brands in European markets. In 2009 the Haitian Group saw sales increase 4.5% year-on-year to CNY 3.86 bn (EUR 455m). It has a 70% share of sales in its domestic market.
