Roofing ceremony at Zhafir
The topping-out ceremony took place on 18 June for the new production hall being built by Zhafir Plastics Machinery (Ebermannsdorf / Germany; www.zhafir.com). The plan is to begin assembly of the all-electric "Venus" models at the 4,300 square metre plant at the end of this year. The machines of the "Mercury" series are, says Zhafir, at the field test phase and will be launched on the world market in time for the "K 2010" exhibition. Originally, Zhafir – a subsidiary of the Ningbo Haitian Group (Ningbo, Zhejiang / China) – had planned to build the first machines in September 2008 – see Plasteurope.com of 17.10.2007. No reason was given for the delay.
