HAITIAN
Machinery manufacture in India / Joint venture established with its distributor Electronica
Chinese machinery manufacturer Haitian International Holdings (Hong Kong; www.haitian.com) intends to set up a machinery production plant in India in conjunction with its local distributor. During the "Plastindia" trade fair (New Delhi, 4-9 February), it was announced that the joint venture would be based near the city of Pune in western India in the state of Maharashtra at the headquarters of its partner Electronica Machine Tools (www.electronicagroup.com).

The plant will manufacture models with a clamping force of up to 3,000 kN. The Indian market for injection moulding machines is put at around 2,700 machines a year, of which about 40% are currently imported. A good half of these are made in China.

Electronica has positioned itself as a one-stop distributor for plastics technology originating from Chinese production. Apart from injection moulding machines from Haitian, the trading and machinery manufacturing group also distributes blow moulding machines from Keli (www.cn-keli.com), extrusion blow moulding machines from Kingswel (www.kingswel.com) and various peripherals.
