GURIT
Group reorganisation on 1 February 2013 / New Composite Materials and Engineering divisions
Swiss composite solutions provider Gurit (Zurich; www.gurit.com) will implement a new group organisation on 1 February 2013 in order to drive future growth and to leverage its technological expertise and capacities in the coming years. The group said the reorganisation will allow it to grow as a supplier of a comprehensive and unique composite material range as well as a provider of both systems and engineering related to composite tooling equipment, engineering and finished parts.
Gurit will introduce two new business units on 1 February to reflect the changes. The first, Gurit Composite Materials, will oversee the company’s wind energy, transportation and marine activities, as well as new composite applications. Key products include prepregs, core materials and formulated products. The division will be headed by Stefan Gautschi, who will join Gurit on 1 February 2013. Gautschi previously held several management positions at Georg Fischer Piping Systems. In terms of structure, the unit will have four global market regions, while its production sites will be overseen by a global head of operations.
The other business unit, Gurit Composite Systems and Engineering, will combine the former Tooling, Automotive Parts and Engineered Structures businesses and will be headed by Gurit CEO Rudolf Hadorn.
The new organisation also brings in its wake executive committee changes. Come 1 February, Gurit’s management will be comprised of CEO Rudolf Hadorn, who will also manage the new Gurit Composite Systems and Engineering; CFO and Investor Relations manager Markus Knüsli Amacker; Stefan Gautschi, general manager of Gurit Composite Materials; as well as CTO Damian Bannister. In other personnel news, Rudolf Gerber, general manager of Gurit’s Wind Energy segment, will leave the company in mid-year. In addition, current Transportation head Kees Reijnen as well as Industrial and Marine manager Paul Goddard will become regional directors within the new Gurit Composite Materials division.
