GRUPA AZOTY
Contract for PA 6 plant awarded to Uhde Inventa-Fischer / Start-up scheduled for 2016
Grupa Azoty (Tarnów / Poland; www.grupaazoty.pl) has tasked engineering group Uhde Inventa-Fischer (Berlin / Germany; www.uhde-inventa-fischer.com) with building the new multiline 80,000 t/y PA 6 plant due to start up at company headquarters in 2016 – see also Plasteurope.com of 08.04.2014. The facility will use the German group’s two-stage polyamide 6 process, and also include Uhde Inventa-Fischer’s “Overproportional Refeeding Process” (OPRP) by means of which the extract of the caprolactam feedstock that accumulates on the production lines can be fed back into a single line and polymerised.
Uhde Inventa-Fischer said its design will allow the plant to be integrated into the existing facilities operated by Grupa Azoty at the site, including its caprolactam plant. According to Plasteurope.com’s Polyglobe capacity database (www.polyglobe.net), the Polish company can turn out 101,000 t/y of the PA feedstock in Tarnów.
