Austrian packaging manufacturer Greiner Packaging International (Kremsmünster; www.greiner-gpi.com) has opened its “Packworld” centre in Oberwaltersdorf near Vienna / Austria. The company, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, has converted the former premises of a cork supplier to house the new “communication and innovation” centre that offers a comprehensive overview of the range of services it offers. In addition, the centre offers conference and meeting rooms that are available for lectures, seminars, meetings and other communication events dealing with packaging. Over the next year it will host a series of individual opening events with customers.
Meanwhile, Greiner Holding reports that the ground-breaking ceremony for the new group headquarters took place on 6 October. The building, which comes at an investment cost of about EUR 6m, is scheduled to be completed in December 2011. The company is hoping that an increasingly international focus and a modern headquarters will secure its future growth – see also Plasteurope.com of 12.07.2010.
As part of its this new focus and in an effort to diversify, Greiner increasingly is turning its sights to Brazil, Russia, India and China. With this in mind the new Greiner Technology & Innovation division currently is checking the market options in China for Greiner Perfoam (automotive) and Greiner Aerospace (aviation). Meanwhile, Greiner Packaging has almost finished building the new site of Greiner Assistec in Mexico, scheduled to start production in November this year.
