GREINER
Austrian extrusion specialist acquires French firm
Profile extrusion tooling manufacturer Greiner Extrusion (Nussbach / Austria; www.greiner-extrusion.at) has taken a 90% stake in France Filière Plastique (Perrignier / France). The acquisition is part of the international expansion strategy of Greiner Extrusion’s parent company Greiner Tool.Tec (www.greiner-tooltec.com), the tool making division of the family-owned Greiner Group (Kremsmünster / Austria; www.greiner.at).
Greiner Tool.Tec, which describes itself as the “world market leader in extrusion tools, machines and plant engineering,” has purchased shares in a wood extrusion firm in the US and established a joint venture in stamping dies in Slovenia. The company said it expects these investments to generate double-digit sales growth in 2008. Greiner Tool.Tec operates 21 facilities at 16 sites in 8 countries and has around 1,400 employees, roughly half of whom work in Austria. Consolidated sales were around EUR 150m in 2007.
