French dairy group Senoble (Jouy; www.senoble.fr) has begun marketing a strawberry yogurt utilising what it describes as an innovative cup container manufactured by Greiner Packaging International (GPI, Kremsmünster / Austria; www.greiner-gpi.com).
To create the solution, the Austrian packaging entity says it relied on a blow moulding process along with special equipment that allows it to produce light and shatterproof yogurt containers made of PP.
The new container packaging is produced at GPI’s German facility in Rastatt, near the French border and a mere 150 kms from Senoble’s Chateau Salins site in northeastern France, where the containers are filled. The two companies remarked that the short distance helps to cut down on CO2 emissions.
Senoble and GPI initially began partnering several years ago in France and have expanded the collaboration to include activities in Spain and the Slovak Republic.
