Increased flexibility from “kavoblow” single stage blowing machine / Cooperation with Mould & Matic
The Kavo division of Greiner Packaging International (GPI, Kremsmünster / Austria; www.greiner-gpi.com) says it has optimised the production of plastic bottles through the introduction of the “kavoblow” 200/80-R2 machine. The machine, developed by GPI and Mould & Matic Solutions (Micheldorf / Austria; www.mouldandmatic.com) and using single stage blowing technology, went into operation in 2011 at GPI’s facility in Wartberg / Austria. It can process all commonly used plastics and can be used for the production of containers with a volume between 5 ml and 5 l.

The machine is based on injection moulding, combined with a newly-developed automated blowing station. The pre-form is manufactured on a vertical machine using the traditional injection moulding system and is then transported into the blowing station using a gripping mandrel. Once complete, the products are unloaded and stacked automatically.
Günter Ausserwöger, head of GPI’s Kavo division, said: “With our new machine we are capable of producing higher quantities of plastic bottles and containers of all types, and with greater efficiency. It is setting new benchmarks for the prices of innovative, customised products.”
