Printing flexibility from servo-controlled UV-colour screen technology / Suitable for bottles of any shape
Austrian packaging producer Greiner Packaging (Kremsmünster; www.greiner-gpi.com) claims that a wider range of printing options for plastic bottles is now possible following the introduction of its servo-controlled UV-colour screen printing machine. Indeed, the company says plastic bottles of any shape or complexity can be printed with high quality results. The machine has been developed for four-colour printing with an additional spot colour and white while the servo control system allows the printing of containers with complex shapes using UV-curing inks.

The machine can be used for the printing of bisphenol A-free baby bottles in PP, PA and PES. Bottles can now be decorated using high-quality screen printing and are packed before delivery. Greiner said that another large area for the application of the new technology is for the decoration of its “Kavodrink” bottles – see Plasteurope.com of 13.01.2010 – which are produced in 500, 750 and 1,000 ml capacities.
