GRAMMER
New facility in Germany
Automotive supplier Grammer (Amberg / Germany; www.grammer.com) is investing around EUR 15m in a new facility in Schmölln / Germany. The site was acquired last year and the company already has a workforce of 30 there. In future, Grammer will manufacture armrests for BMW and central consoles for Mercedes in Schmölln. As well as extending the facilities, the headcount will be increased to 76. The Thuringian Ministry for Economics, Technology and Labor (www.thueringen.de/de/tmwta) has announced that Grammer will receive public funding of EUR 2.6m for the project from the GRW fund to promote regional economic development and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
