Plastics distributors Distrupol (Chertsey, UK; www.distrupol.com) and Nexeo Plastics (The Woodlands, Texas, USA; www.nexeoplastics.com) have a new boss – Kurt Schuering has been appointed CEO and president of the holding company, GPD Companies, as of 24 June 2024. This means he will also manage the businesses of Distrupol and Nexeo Plastics in future. Schuering, who holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Kentucky, succeeds Paul Tayler, who is moving to the GPD supervisory board. 

Schuering has worked in the plastics industry for over 30 years. He initially headed the automotive division at GE Plastics/Sabic from 1994 to 2007, before working for almost 14 years in various positions at the US compounder and supplier of speciality polymers PolyOne (Avon Lake, Ohio, USA). GPD Companies is backed by US investment company One Rock Capital Partners (New York, New York; www.onerock.com).
