Second coffee capsules production line in Portugal / New injection moulding plant in Mexico
Injection moulding company GLN Plast, a subsidiary of the GLN Group (Leiria / Portugal; www.gln.pt), opened a second production line for coffee capsules at its site in Albergaria / Portugal in September 2017. The new line has six injection moulding machines and is capable of producing up to 10m "DeltaQ" capsules per week for Delta Cafés (Campo Maior / Portugal; www.deltacafes.pt), which belongs to Grupo Nabeiro (Campo Maior; www.grupo-nabeiro.pt).

GLN is also expanding across the ocean. In July 2017, the group opened a new production unit in Querétaro / Mexico. The company invested around USD 2.5m in the injection moulding plant. By the end of 2017, the workforce should comprise 15 employees, with 20 more to be added later. For the shortened fiscal period, the plant is expected to generate a turnover of USD 2m, and the company hopes to reach USD 5m for the full year.

In addition to its GLN Plast and GLN México business units, the group has two business units for mould making and a subsidiary for product development. In addition to coffee capsules, GLN manufactures connectors, automotive components and other technical parts in the injection moulding sector.
