New pharmaceutical packaging manufacturing site in Brazil

German packaging manufacturer Gerresheimer (Düsseldorf; www.gerresheimer.com) has strengthened its presence in South America, with the start up of a new plant in Anápolis / Brazil. The company has announced that the site has started production of pharmaceutical plastic packaging.
Gerresheimer Anápolis' production unit will manufacture the entire range of PP, PE and PET containers, as well as caps and closures. The "complete concept" solution includes product assembly and decoration. In 2018, the 3,200 m² plant will be equipped with 30 machines. By 2021, an additional expansion to 20,000 m² is being planned.
The German company has three other Brazilian plastic packaging plants in Butantã, Cotia and Embu, all in the São Paulo region. Gerresheimer also produces insulin pens in Indaiatuba / Brazil and Buenos Aires / Argentina, as well as pharmaceutical ampoules and glass vials in Querétaro / Mexico.
