At its site in Zaragoza / Spain, Gerresheimer (Düsseldorf / Germany; www.gerresheimer.de) has expanded its clean room production capacities for PET pharmaceutical bottles and closures. Eight injection moulding and injection stretch blow moulding machines are currently installed in the new ISO Class 8 clean room, which was completed at the end of 2016. The 600 m² area offers space for the packaging producer to top up its capacities to 15 machines.

With the new, higher-performance machines, round bottles can now be produced in a higher quality, says Gerresheimer. The tops of the bottles for medicines and nutritional supplements have been modified in such a way as to take different closure systems – ranging from child-safe closures and tamper-evident systems, through to simple stoppers.
