GEORG FISCHER
Piping division to concentrate Tecno Plastic Alprene's fittings production at new plant near Genoa
In Busalla, a few kilometres to the north of Genoa / Italy, GF Piping Systems, part of industrial group Georg Fischer (GF, Schaffhausen / Switzerland; www.georgfischer.com), is currently building a new plant for its subsidiary Tecno Plastic Alprene. The building should be finished in Q3 2010, a group spokesperson told PIE. The new site will merge the company´s existing production facilities in Italy – located in Busalla and Castelmaggiore. No details were disclosed about the size of the investment.

Around 100 employees will be affected by the measure, which will not create any new jobs, at least for now. Tecno Plastic Alprene will operate about 40 injection moulding machines at the new plant, manufacturing PVC fittings, PP clamp fittings for water supply and other faucets.
