Austria’s Gabriel-Chemie (Gumpoldskirchen; www.gabriel-chemie.com) has launched a new range of 20 colour masterbatches for ABS and PLA filaments used for 3D printing. The range offers some innovative special effects. For example, “sunflower yellow” and “glowing blue” incorporate after-glow effects, while “shiny yellow”, “fruity orange” and “shiny orange” are fluorescent. Three metallic colours are available: “stainless steel”, “traditional silver” and “bling gold”.
Gabriel-Chemie said the masterbatch can also be equipped, on request, with laser marking technology to allow optimal decoration of the final object, an ability which it described as “truly unique” in 3D printing.
The colours are said to offer high brilliance and depth, even at low dosage rates, and be very temperature stable with some even performing up to a maximum of 260 °C.
