FUJIAN BILLION PETROCHEMICALS
Invista licence for large-scale PTA generation acquired / PET processor planning backward integration
Baihong Industrial Holdings (Jinjiang City, Fujian / China; www.baihong.com) is planning to build a PTA plant to supply its existing facilities that produce PET films and PET fibres. Its subsidiary Fujian Billion Petrochemicals recently acquired Invista's "P8" licence for a 2.5m t/y plant. Construction of the line is expected to start in mid-2020. A date for production start-up was not mentioned.

Fujian Billion's two operating units Fujian Billion Polyfiber Technology and Fujian Billion High-tech Materials – both based in Jinjiang – produce fibre with a capacity of nearly 800,000 t/y as well as 250,000 t/y of films. These film lines primarily extrude biaxially oriented PET films. Both companies' respective products are distributed mainly on the domestic market.
