FRÄNKISCHE ROHRWERKE
German pipe manufacturer lays corner stone for first French plant
At the onset of September 2011, German pipe manufacturer Fränkische Rohrwerke (Königsberg; www.fraenkische.de) kicked off the construction of its first plant in neighbouring France, specifically in Torcy-le-Grand.
The German group plans to invest EUR 8m in the new site, located about 30 km north of Troyes. The facility is expected to begin producing pipes for rain water management as well as injection-moulded PP “Rigofill” retention systems in mid-2012. All in all, the new plant will create 35 new jobs; in the long-term, employee numbers are expected to grow to 100.
“The new facility means we will in future be able to deliver our products to all of France,” said Yann Nedellec, CEO of the distribution company Fränkische France.
