FRÄNKISCHE ROHRWERKE
Acquisition of distribution company in Spain
Fränkische Rohrwerke Gebr. Kirchner (Königsberg / Germany; www.fraenkische.de) has acquired the Spanish wholesaler Raditherm (Yeles, Toledo / Spain; www.raditherm.com), adding a distribution organisation in Spain to subsidiaries in the US, Czech Republic, UK and Russia. Raditherm has been renamed Fränkische Iberica. In the past, the company’s core product range has focused on products manufactured by Fränkische Rohrwerke.
Fränkische Iberica officially took over all activities in Spain and Portugal on 1 February 2008. It has seven employees and five sales representatives serving the Iberian peninsula. Michael Huck, managing director of the household technology division at Fränkische Rohrwerke, explained that the acquisition provides a sound footing for the company’s plans to step up business in Spain.
