Around EUR 9m will be invested in the site at Carrick-on-Shannon.
With this expansion, the Freudenberg Group continues its developments in the medical technology industry. The existing facility will be extended by 4,180 m² and include four new ISO class 7 cleanrooms for manufacturing minimally-invasive medical devices.

The group bought 50% of the shares in VistaMed in 2010 – see Plasteurope.com of 12.04.2010. A spokesperson told Plasteurope.com that VistaMed has a around 400 employees. Various plastics are used to manufacture catheters and other similar products, including PE, PP, PU, PET, PA, PC, FEP, PVC, PFA and PVA.
