FORBO
Acquisition of Fenner Dunlop PVC conveyor belting business
Flooring, adhesives and belting specialist Forbo (Baar / Switzerland; www.forbo.com) is purchasing the lightweight PVC conveyor belting business of Fenner Dunlop (Charlotte, North Carolina / USA; www.fennerdunlopamericas.com). In conjunction with the acquisition, Forbo has secured an agreement to distribute lightweight rubber belting products manufactured by Fenner Dunlop Americas.
Forbo said the agreements will strengthen its movement systems division, particularly in the North American market. The new products will complement the division’s product offering for rip- and tear-resistant conveyor belts, for use primarily in the logistics and food industries, it added.
Fenner Dunlop Americas said the disposal will allow it to concentrate on its heavyweight conveyor belting business, primarily for mining applications, especially coal mining. As part of the transaction, some 40 employees will join Forbo Movement Systems. Financial details were not disclosed.
