Folag AG, Folienwerke (CH-6203 Sempach-Station) is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The thriving company – with more than 240 employees, various branches and subsidiaries in Europe and the USA, 20,000 square metres of production space and more than 37,000 square metres of enclosed space – wishes to "continue to grow in a sound way", it was said during the anniversary ceremony. The company's central activities are the manufacturing and distribution of construction and covering film, cleaning hoses and plastic foam insulating material used in packaging materials, packaging films and systems, as well as film products for gardening and other hobbies. For environmental reasons, only polyethylene-material is used. PE-recyclate is also used in many products, such as the reinforcement spacer "Pronto-Fer". Polyethylene is also offered in large quantities in the form of shut-off and advertising straps.

In cooperation with partner companies, Folag, by its own account has built up a unique PE-recycling system in Switzerland. These and other measures are designed to underline the environmental policy comprehensively drawn up and adhered to by Folag.

After a series of ups and downs in the company's history, consolidated annual sales of the Folag group settled at SFR 57m (about DM 68.4m) in the years from 1991 to 1993. The export share in 1993 was 40 percent, PE output in 1993 amounted to 14,600 t/y, which is a slight increase compared to the two previous years.
