Greek packaging manufacturer opens first production plant in US

Greek packaging manufacturer Flexopack (Koropi; www.flexopack.com) is expanding into the US and building its first production facility in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. The investment for the approximately 10,000-m² plant, located east of state capital Harrisburg, amounts to USD 33 mn (EUR 30.4 mn). The construction project is divided into three phases and is expected to create 64 jobs. Flexopack previously only had a distribution centre in the US state of Delaware.

Flexopack specialises in the co-extrusion of barrier and non-barrier films used in the food industry, particularly for meat, poultry, cheese, and fish. From the new site, Flexopack plans to supply poultry processor Bell & Evans in Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania, among others. The project is being funded by the state of Pennsylvania with around USD 500,000, according to a company announcement made to the Athens Stock Exchange.

In 2023, Flexopack achieved a turnover of EUR 153 mn, EUR 2 mn more than in the previous year. In addition to its headquarters in Greece, the company also operates production sites in Malbork (Poland) and Brisbane (Australia).
