FLEXIBLE PACKAGING FILM
European market: OPP film with over one third market share / Total consumption 1.9m t
With a share of 36% of the western European market for flexible packaging film, oriented polypropylene (OPP) is the biggest class of materials in this segment, followed by polyethylene and paper. These are the results to emerge from a study carried out by Schönwald Consulting (Fichtenweg 14, D-74354 Besigheim). This fourth volume is a supplement to the main multi-client study (see Plasteurope.com 16, 1999), and shows in detail what volumes of the various films are used in the individual market segments per country or group of countries in Europe. The study looks at 11 market segments with 42 product groups for each type of film. In 1999, total consumption of flexible packaging film in western Europe was 1.9m t.
