FKUR
German bioplastics specialist now "Green PE" distributor in Canada and the US for Braskem
Brazilian resins major Braskem (São Paulo; www.braskem.com.br) and German bioplastics compounding specialist FKuR Kunststoff (Willich; www.fkur.de) are broadening the terms of their distribution agreement for bio-based polyethylene. Effective immediately, FKuR is now the official distribution partner and technical sales support for the Brazilian's "Green PE" in both the US and Canada. FKuR has a North American location, FKuR Plastics Corporation in Austin, Texas.

Since November 2011 the biopolymer specialist from Willich has been the exclusive sales distributor in Europe for HDPE and LLDPE made from sugarcane in Brazil – see Plasteurope.com from 30.11.2011.

With its brand "Terralene", FKuR can expand the application range for Green PE by offering customised compounds based on Braskem bio-based polyethylene. According to FKuR, both Terralene und Green PE have the same properties and processability found in conventional polyethylene, making them a drop-in replacement on existing production lines. In addition, both products are completely recyclable in existing polyethylene streams.
