Spanish automotive components supplier Ficosa (Barcelona; www.ficosa.com) has completed a EUR 5m expansion of its plant in Maia / Portugal near Porto. The new facility of its subsidiary Ficocables has an additional 7,800 m² expected to be ready for mid-January 2019, adding to the approximately 17,000 m² of space already at the site. The new space includes technical offices, engineering rooms and laboratories.
The Ficocables plant was Ficosa's first outside of Spain. Around 1,400 employees develop and manufacture cables for door and seat systems in Maia.
