Reflex Mouldings bought out of administration / All jobs saved
Waste management and recycling specialist FHS Group (Lisburn / N Ireland) has bought Reflex Mouldings (Markethill, Co Armagh / N Ireland; www.reflexmouldings.com) out of administration for an undisclosed sum. Reflex Mouldings produces the “FlexiTile” brand of PVC interlocking floor tiles for industrial, commercial and domestic applications. It was put into administration by PricewaterhouseCoopers (Belfast / N Ireland; www.pwc.com) on 29 June following several months of “trading and financial difficulties” and was sold to FHS on 3 August. All 70 jobs at the firm have been saved. Announcing the sale of Reflex to FHS, PwC partner Paul Rooney said, “Despite previous trading problems, there was still a core business and we were determined to trade the company while seeking a commercial buyer. Today is the successful outcome of that process.”
Reflex Mouldings has an on-site recycling plant that takes back all end-of-life products, plus business centres in Litchfield / UK and Kansas / USA. It created 37 jobs in May 2007 on receipt of a GBP 2m investment from the economic development agency Invest NI (www.investni.com) that was intended to help it double turnover within four years. Its loose-lay tiles are available with four surface textures and in 10 colours.
FHS Group operates a number of companies trading under the Unicorn brand, including Unicorn Containers (Lisburn / N Ireland; www.unicorn-containers.com). It offers a range of products for local councils and businesses to integrate waste segregation requirements. Products such as litter and recycling bins are mostly produced in metal with a polyester paint finish. They can be branded and colour-coded to suit either business or on-street requirements.
