The 24th “Fakuma – International trade fair for plastics processing” (www.fakuma-messe.de) opens its doors in Friedrichshafen / Germany today. The event will allow visitors to familiarise themselves with the latest sector trends and developments until 17 October, ahead of the next big European plastics fair, “K 2016”. More than 1,750 exhibitors from 38 countries will showcase their goods at the fairgrounds' 12 halls and two foyers. With 925 exhibitors, Germany holds the largest contingent, followed by Italy (102), Switzerland (97), Austria (63), France (43), China (41), Portugal (27), The Netherlands (25), Czech Republic (20) and Turkey (17).
Fair organiser P. E. Schall (Frickenhausen / Germany; www.schall-messen.de) expects that 46,000 people will visit the fully-booked fairgrounds, measuring a total of 90,000 m2. Visitors are anticipated to come from more than 100 different countries. The fair offers a comprehensive overview of all plastic technologies, although its focus is on injection moulding as well as the practical solutions offered by machinery and tool manufacturers. Schall said additive and 3D production will also play an important role this year.
Plasteurope.com will also be represented at the fair, at the booth of its German sister publication Kunststoff Information (KI, Bad Homburg / Germany; www.kiweb.de), located in hall B2, booth 2101. Aside from showcasing our newest spot price service as well as our Polyglobe capacity database (www.polyglobe.net), visitors to the booth will also stand to receive attractive fair offers for Plasteurope.com subscriptions. KI is also organising a special feedstock summit, held at 11:30 on 14 October at the Conference Centre West. The keynote address “Why we need an Alliance for Polymers” will be delivered by EuPC board member Ron Marsh (for more details, see the interview at Plasteurope.com of 12.10.2015).
