Expansion of interpack alliance includes "pacprocess Tehran" / Packaging sector event in October in Iran
Messe Düsseldorf's (www.messe-duesseldorf.com) interpack alliance has expanded to include a new event in Tehran / Iran, "pacprocess Tehran" (www.pacprocess-tehran.com) from 12 - 15 October 2017. The packaging trade fair will be held in cooperation with Iranian organiser Barsaz Rooydad Pars (BRP, Mashhad / Iran; www.eventsportal.ir/en) at the Shahr-e-Aftab (Exhibiran International) exhibition centre, with a capacity for 400,000 visitors and 120,000 m² of exhibition space in 16 halls.
The trade fair is for companies in the packaging sector and related process industries across the value chain. Companies that exhibit at the upcoming "interpack 2017" (4 - 10 May, see also Plasteurope.com of 26.04.2016) can participate in pacprocess Tehran for a special rate.
Concurrently to pacprocess Tehran and located at the Shahr-e-Aftab centre, the "components - Special Trade Fair by interpack" will be held, which caters to upstream suppliers to the packaging and process industries, ranging from drive and control technologies to machinery parts. Other events held at the same time include "IPAP Tehran", the International Printing and Packaging exhibition, and "iFoodExpo and Hospitality Tehran", an exhibition that includes food- and hospitality-related machinery and industries as well as food packaging.
According to interpack alliance, since international sanctions were eased in early 2016, Iran has been an attractive market because the economy has a backlog of demand in many areas, including an increasing demand for packaged goods. In 2015, 16.5m t of packaged food was sold in Iran, and the annual growth rate stood at 3%, with the pastry segment proving especially dynamic with a growth rate of 19%.
