Messe Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf / Germany; www.messe-duesseldorf.com) has added to its international fair repertoire and is introducing “SWOP – Shanghai World of Packaging” in November next year. The four-day event – co-organised by Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai, Adsale Exhibition Services (Hong Kong / China; www.adsale.com.hk) as well as the China Center for Food & Drug International Exchange (CCFDIE; www.ccpie.org) – will be held at the Shanghai New Exhibition Centre from 17-20 November 2015.
SWOP will consist of four trade shows, presenting all the stages of the packaging value added chain as well as the related processing segments. Aside from the China International Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Industry Exhibition “China Pharm”, the exhibition quartet also includes “PacPro Asia”, “FoodPex” and “BulkPex”.
The International Trade Fair for Packaging, Material Production and Processing, also known as “PacPro Asia” will represent the production and finishing of packaging products made from a range of materials, including paper, plastic, glass, wood, woven textiles and metal. The event will also address package printing, labelling and recycling – in essence covering the same segments as the Düsseldorf-based trade shows “drupa”, “Interpack”, “glasstec” and “K”.
“FoodPex” – the International Trade Fair for the Food Processing and Packaging Industries – will focus on packaging solutions for the food and beverage industries. With China expected to top the US as the world’s largest food market in 2015, at a total market value of EUR 1 bn, this field in particular affords a range of business opportunities for modern technology and materials, as well as processing and bottling systems, Messe Düsseldorf says.
Also making its debut is “BulkPex” – the International Trade Fair for Technology and Equipment in Bulk Packaging. This particular event will highlight external and bulk packaging – a key necessity in a country of China’s size and with its vast population as well as the high degree of imports. Aside from technological solutions to bulk packaging, the event will also showcase machinery and equipment as well as labeling and goods tracking systems.
