The 11th International Plastics and Packaging Industry Fair “Plasti&Pack Pakistan” (www.plastipacpakistan.com) will be held from 5-7 September 2013 in Lahore / Pakistan. Co-organised by Pegasus Consultancy (Karachi / Pakistan; www.pegasus.com.pk) and fairtrade (Heidelberg / Germany; www.fairtrade-messe.de), the UFI-approved event covers the entire plastic and packaging segment, and will be held in conjunction with the 10th International Food, Beverage & Packaging Technology Trade Fair “Pakistan food + bev tec” (www.pk-foodtec.com). For the first time in its history, the annual event also will include a Print, Paper & Label industry pavilion. Last year’s fair, which included 74 exhibitors, attracted 3,464 visitors.

According to the organisers, some 750,000 people are employed by Pakistan’s plastics sector, which imports goods to the tune of USD 1.5 bn, while exports reach USD 540m. Imports of plastic, packaging and printing machinery into the country reached a volume of USD 188m.
