The 26th “Chinaplas” (www.chinaplasonline.com) plastics fair will be held on 18-21 April 2012 in Shanghai / China. The organiser, Adsale Exhibition Services (Hong Kong / China; www.adsale.com.hk), said the event will feature two of the zones introduced last year: “bioplastics & degradable plastics” and “rubber machinery & equipment”.

The bioplastics zone will be more than 40% larger than last year, and will feature products such as PLA, PHA, polybutylene succinate (PBS), polycaprolactone (PCL), polyvinyl alchohol (PVA) and thermoplastic starch (TPS). Exhibitors will include Cardia, Danisco, Ecomann, Esun, Hisun, Kingfa, Mirel Plastics, NatureWorks and Nuvia. The “4th International Conference on Bioplastics and the Applications” will be held at the same time.

Adsale as well expects to double the size of the rubber machinery & equipment zone next year. Exhibitors will include Tung Yu, Desma, Yang Ming, Double Elephant, Hengwei, Ningbo Chap, Shanghai Deren and Yuyao Huacheng. The Korean Pavilion, which was featured at Chinaplas 2009, will also return to the event in 2012, with the support of the Korea Petrochemical Industry Association (KPIA; www.kpia.or.kr/eng).

Adsale said the total exhibition space for Chinaplas 2012 will be 200,000 m², with more than 2,600 exhibitors expected from 35 countries. The event is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors, compared with 94,084 for Chinaplas 2011 – see Plasteurope.com of 10.06.2011.
