“Plastics & Rubber Vietnam 2012”
From 29 February to 2 March 2012, the city of Ho Chi Minh / Vietnam will host the fourth International Plastics and Rubber Technologies and Materials Exhibition, also known as “Plastics & Rubber Vietnam” (www.plasticsvietnam.com) industry fair. The event will coincide with the seventh International Processing, Filling and Packlaging Exhibition and Conference, also known as “ProPak Vietnam” (www.propakvietnam.com).
Co-organised by Bangkok Exhibition Services (Bangkok / Thailand; www.besallworld.com) and Messe Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf / Germany; www.messe-duesseldorf.de), the biannual “Plastics & Rubber Vietnam” fair drew more than 6,800 visitors in 2010, a rise of 23% over the 2008 event, with more than 210 companies from 21 different countries exhibiting their goods. On display will be not only plastics and rubber machinery, equipment and products, but also raw materials and industry-related services, including R&D, material formulation and contract manufacturing, among others.
Vietnam’s plastics sector is highly dynamic and has been growing at an average rate of 15-20% a year over the past decade – see also Plasteurope.com of 25.05.2011. The fair organisers have listed numerous growth opportunities, including the automotive sector, for which the Vietnamese government has set the policy goal of a complete vehicle import substitution, coupled with the export of parts and components for 2015. In addition, numerous infrastrucuture investments planned for the future will boost domestic demand for construction plastics.
