FAHR BUCHER
Take over: Thermoset press division of Battenfeld / "Key market positions"
As of 1 August 1995, the Fahr Bucher GmbH (PO Box 1164, D-78240 Gottmadingen) has taken over the automatic thermoset moulding press division of the Battenfeld GmbH (D-58540 Meinerzhagen), thereby extending its longstanding market leadership in the thermoset sector. The division's product range comprises the automatic presses of the BP-A Series with mould clamping forces of 1000 to 4000 kN and the 4-station automatic presses of the BP-R Series with clamping forces from 200 to 800 kN per station. Fahr Bucher will continue to produce all the semiautomatic and fully automatic presses. Existing customers will continue to receive service support from the new owners.
The Fahr Bucher GmbH, a subsidiary of the Swiss Bucher Group, is thereby expanding its activities to date to include a further range of products. The proven injection moulding machines of the TS Series with mould clamping forces of 1200 to 7000 kN have already won Fahr Bucher key positions on the markets in Europe, the USA and the Far East. As Dr Hans Wobbe, Managing Director of the Fahr Bucher GmbH and Dr Helmut Eschwey, Managing Director of the Battenfeld Group, explained during the signing of the contract, the Battenfeld press technology represents the optimum complement to Fahr Bucher product programme for cost-effective solutions in the lower mould clamping force range. Dr Eschwey pointed out what with this step, Battenfeld is achieving a greater concentration on the key areas of its business in an injection moulding machine market which has now started to grow again rapidly. This also includes the thermoset injection moulding machines which have remained in the Battenfeld product range.
The company philosophy of the Fahr Bucher GmbH is to act as a supplier of top quality products in clearly defined market niches. This also involves the high-speed thermoplastic injection moulding machines of the SGA Series which are suitable in particular for demanding thin-wall moulding applications. Furthermore, the company offers a wide range of other applications in thermoset moulding technology from free-flowing material to polyester DMC.
