EXXONMOBIL CHEMICAL
Elastomers for film and fibre applications
ExxonMobil Chemical (Baytown, Texas / USA; www.exxonmobilchemical.com) has introduced three new grades of “Vistamaxx” speciality elastomers with a very low gel count, making them ideal for high performance film and fibre applications. The grades can be blended with PE and PP or used as interfacing layers with PE and PP structures, to deliver improved tie layer and lamination performance. The grades offer low seal initiation temperatures along with high seal strength, making them suitable for use as a sealing layer in coextruded structures.
Typical applications include calendered or extruded sheet/profiles, extrusion coating, non-wovens and injection or blow moulded goods. Available as free-flowing pellets, Vistamaxx 3020FL, 3980FL and 6102FL elastomers also offer good optical properties and chemical resistance and can be used in a range of other polymer modification applications.
