A new boss is coming to the Performance Materials segment of German speciality chemicals group Evonik (Essen; www.evonik.com), which is up for sale.
Until the divestment is complete (see Plasteurope.com of 04.05.2022), Joachim Dahm will take over management of the unit on an interim basis, the group announced. Dahm, who has a PhD in physics, has worked at Evonik, or companies it has acquired, since 1990 and is currently head of the Technology & Infrastructure division, a role he also retains.

The 59-year-old succeeds Maike Schuh, an Evonik employee since 2015. In July 2022, she took charge of the business area for superabsorbents, alcoholates, and C4 composite chemicals, and she has been tapped to be group CFO on 1 April 2023.
Schuh will replace Ute Wolf, who is leaving the company after 17 years, Evonik said.
